Close the Loop Group Recycles 50 Million Printer Cartridges

Close the Loop Group has recently achieved a significant milestone in its printer cartridge recycling program, having recycled an impressive 50 million printer cartridges through the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark initiative since its launch in 2003. This program offers individuals an easy and environmentally responsible way to recycle their used printer cartridges, ensuring that these items are diverted from landfills and instead repurposed into a variety of new products.

According to Close the Loop Group's CEO, Joe Foster, reaching this milestone is a testament to the success and impact of the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark program. By recycling printer cartridges into new cartridges, inks, and the company's innovative TonerPlas product, Close the Loop is not only reducing waste but also contributing to the creation of everyday products that people use.

The widespread availability of over 4,000 'Cartridges 4 Planet Ark' cartridge collection boxes across Australia, as well as their presence in numerous corporate, government, and educational institutions, makes it convenient for individuals and organizations to participate in the recycling program. Close the Loop Group encourages workplaces that use a minimum of three imaging consumables per month from a participating manufacturer to register for a collection box, providing them with all the necessary materials and information to get started.

By participating in the Cartridges 4 Planet Ark program, companies can not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also receive valuable reporting on the amount of waste they are diverting from landfills. This data can be utilized in sustainability reports, showcasing a commitment to responsible waste management and recycling practices.

As the printing industry continues to evolve and embrace sustainable practices, initiatives like Close the Loop Group's printer cartridge recycling program play a crucial role in reducing waste and promoting a circular economy. By encouraging individuals and businesses to recycle their printer cartridges, we can all contribute to a cleaner and more environmentally conscious future.
