The Fespa Expo, a significant global event showcasing various printing sectors including sign, display, promotional, merchandising, and garment printing, witnessed a notable increase in visitor numbers, with a 10% rise compared to the previous year’s turnout. This year’s edition attracted 14,036 visitors from 126 countries, with Germany and Poland leading in attendance. The event, held in Berlin, featured a diverse range of exhibits and educational content that compelled nearly two-thirds of attendees to spend more than a day exploring the offerings.
With a total attendance figure of 23,061, Fespa emphasized that the event served as a crucial platform for high-ranking decision-makers, with 87% of visitors holding influential positions and 71% being directors, CEOs, owners, or managers. The collective median budget among attendees stood at €2.9bn, with 40% expressing intentions to invest in solutions within the next 12 months. Noteworthy highlights for visitors included the SmartHub Conference speaker sessions, a variety of features, and the extensive display of printing and signage technologies.
Michael Ryan, the head of Fespa Global Print Expo, lauded the positive feedback received for the 2025 event, noting the exceptional networking and business opportunities it provided for industry visionaries and professionals. The return to Germany saw a substantial surge in attendance, with a 44% increase in German participants and a remarkable 117% rise in Polish attendees compared to the previous Munich event in 2023. The event also witnessed the launch of 100 new products and technologies, fostering global connections within the print community to drive industry growth and development.
While Fespa and Labelexpo have been steadily attracting more visitors to their specialized print trade shows, the renowned drupa expo has faced challenges in maintaining its attendee numbers. Despite still drawing massive crowds, drupa experienced a 35% decline in visitors for its 2024 edition compared to 2016, attracting 170,000 printers. Looking ahead, Barcelona is set to host both the upcoming Labelexpo in September and Fespa 2026 next May, promising further innovations and opportunities for the print community.
The evolving landscape of print industry events reflects shifting trends and preferences among industry professionals, with specialized exhibitions gaining traction and offering unique networking and business prospects. As the industry continues to evolve, events like Fespa play a crucial role in facilitating collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and technological advancements that drive the growth and innovation of the printing sector.
